Feel like yourself again.
Personal training for your whole life.
Helping busy professionals create more space, calm and direction through honest conversation, movement and practical action.
Does this sound familiar?
You're good at what you do. Perhaps bloody great, though you probably wouldn't shout it from the rooftops. People rely on you because you're the sort of person who gets shit done. At work, at home, or in your community, you're dependable and you care.
From the outside looking in, life probably looks pretty good.
"Can't complain actually, Tom."
The strange thing is, you can be grateful for your life and still not quite feel like yourself. Your days disappear before you've had a chance to think. You struggle to switch off, the healthy habits that make such a difference slip away, and "I'll start again next week" has become your catchphrase.
Of course this happens. Life gets in the way sometimes. Shit happens. You're human.
You don't need another motivational quote, and you certainly don't need me telling you to take a 5am ice bath. You just want to feel calmer, clearer and more like yourself again.
It doesn't have to stay this way
Life will probably continue to be busy. There'll still be deadlines, family commitments, life admin and weeks where things don't quite go according to plan.
I'm not here to sell you a fantasy life. I'm here to help you make the most of the one you've already got. To feel calmer when life gets hectic, think more clearly when everything feels noisy, have the energy to enjoy your evenings instead of simply recovering from the day, and spend more time doing the things that matter most to you.
And when life inevitably gets in the way, you'll know how to find your feet again.
Not through perfection. Just simple, practical changes that fit into real life.
People don't always finish coaching saying, "Tom completely transformed my life."
But they frequently talk about the things we all want; better sleep, more energy, and a rewarding life.
For me, that's what coaching is all about.
People understand what a personal trainer does. They help you build strength and fitness, improve your diet and keep you accountable. I simply take that same approach and apply it to the rest of life.
Sometimes we'll head out for a walk, starting with a bit of movement to clear the mind, or sit down with a coffee and untangle whatever's been weighing on you. Together we'll work on the things that make the biggest difference — your habits, your health, and your direction.
I don’t pretend to have the solution. I help you find yours.
Over 20 years of doing this I’ve found honest conversation, practical action and someone in your corner helps you make the most of the life you've got.
What does "Personal training for your whole life" mean?
Let's take this outside.
Some of the best coaching conversations I’ve ever had didn’t happen in an office. They happened while walking through nature.
When you get outdoors and walk side by side, conversation feels easier and the pressure begins to lift. The open space, calming sounds of nature and path ahead create the ideal setting to walk through your challenges and explore new opportunities.
No four white walls or awkward staring into each other’s eyes. Just the chance to air what’s going on for you.
Research shows that spending time in nature can reduce stress, improve your mood and help you think more clearly. When you improve your state, you’re better able to work on creating the life you deserve.
You don’t need to be fit, you don’t need hiking boots and tree hugging is optional. You just need to be willing to leave the office, put your phone away for an hour and go for a walk.
The rest tends to take care of itself.
Here's how we'll work together
No two people are the same, so no two coaching journeys are either. We'll work together in a way that fits you, your life and what you need most right now.
Create space
When life gets busy, it's hard to hear yourself think.
Sometimes creating that space means heading out for a walk. Sometimes it's a coffee and a conversation. Sometimes it's moving your body for a few minutes before we talk.
I've lost count of the number of times a client has said, "I knew exactly what I needed to do by the end of the walk."
It's amazing what can become clear when you step away from the noise for an hour.
Think clearer
You don't need me to tell you how to live your life.
More often than not, you already know the answer.
My role is to ask good questions, challenge your thinking when needed and help you untangle what's been weighing on you.
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough isn't changing your life.
It's seeing it differently.
Take action
We'll keep things simple.
No twenty-step action plans.
No trying to change your whole life overnight.
Instead, we'll focus on one or two practical changes that fit into real life.
Little and often.
Because small actions create big change.
Hi, I'm Tom.
I'm a wellbeing coach, writer and lifelong student of people. For over twenty years I've worked with people in one way or another, and I'm still fascinated by what helps us live well and feel more like ourselves.
I've been a personal trainer, coach, carpenter, retail leader and grounds technician. Every role has taught me something about people, and every one has shaped the way I coach today.
If we work together, don't expect lectures or someone pretending to have all the answers. Expect honest conversation, practical ideas and someone in your corner as you find your own way forward.
